The idea of starting a branch of the Jebus Museum in St. Petersburg was first conceived in the autumn of 2018. It was discussed with a number of accomplished museologists, and since November 2018 work on transportation the first museum collection to Russia has began. Ultimately, in 2019, with the support of the Palestinian Embassy in Moscow and Mikhail Piotrovsky, the Director of the Hermitage, the branch of the Jebus Museum was opened in Russia. In the framework of the dialogue among the Russian and Palestinian cultures, at the Hermitage Museum it was carried out an event “Higher than Heaven”, timed to the opening of the Russian Culture Hall in Palestine.
The Jebus Museum in Russia is a great step forward in the development of not only Palestinian culture, since the rich heritage of the ancient civilization of Palestine is extremely crucial for learning and deeper awareness of the whole world history, including the Russian one.
